Edmark's Words Around Me teaches students approximately 300 vocabulary words that are important in their daily lives. With help from an encouraging character named Greenie, students learn to associate spoken words with a variety of visual representations, including photographs, drawn images and animations.

Words Around Me has a sequence of five activities: Word Identification, Plurals, Categorization, Sameness and Difference. Review games are incorporated into the program as reinforcers. The software is available for Macintosh and Windows and includes built-in scanning for single switch users.
