MBNA Joins LINC's Employment Efforts through TechWorks

The LINTechWorks project is continuing to place adults with cognitive and other disabilities in jobs involving the use of computer technology and necessary adaptations. TechWorks, a collaborative job training project with LINC, the Baltimore Association for Retarded Citizens (BARC), and workFirst, Inc., has started off 2001 with a bang already placing six people in new jobs.

Hats off to MBNA, for demonstrating their support of the training effort by hiring two people in full-time positions at the Hunt Valley office. The TechWorks trainees will be doing advanced data entry such as computing discounts of credit card bills using Microsoft Excel and other software applications. MBNA has gone one step further by employing in-house job coaches and support staff for the employees with disabilities. The TechWorks project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services and continues until September 30, 2001..
