Free Computers for People with Disabilities

Not a day goes by that LINC doesnít get a call from someone asking us if we provide free computers. The answer remains the same, that we do not; but we would like to pass along to our readers two resources where they may be able to get a computer, either for free or inexpensively.

Contact the Jim Mullen Foundation, an organization that specializes in providing computers for anybody especially those individuals who think they are unable to use one.Ý For more information go to www.jimmullen.com.

Another local resource is the Maryland State Agency for Surplus Property, located in Jessup, and open Monday through Friday 8a.m. to 4 p.m. with occasional Saturday openings. There are plenty of excess computers and other equipment, and they can be presumed to be in working order, but there are no warranties. Visit the website www.dgs.state.md.us/surplus, for more information and directions and a map., or call 410-540-4067.
