Dragon Dictate
In no other area of assistive technology has recent development been as dramatic as in the area of speech recognition. In addition to these advances, speech recognition products have experienced an amazing drop in prices over the past few years.
One Dragon Dictate program dropped from $700 to $140 in 1997. Dragon Dictate is the only completely hands-free, voice-input product. It is possible to control all aspects of the computer's operation by voice. This makes it a desirable product for those people whose disability prevents them from using the keyboard and mouse at all.
Dragon Dictate is not a program for everyone. It requires thorough training, a systematic, detail-oriented approach to computer operation, and patience.
