The Arc of Montgomery County (The Arc, MC) - offers AFTER ALL, an after school enrichment program for pre-teens and teenagers with disabilities in an inclusive community setting at The Boys and Girls Club of Silver Spring.   • BUILDING BRIDGES PROJECT - This program increases the availability of child care options for children with disabilities and their families by providing training and support to families and community child care providers. Families and child care providers can call the Building Bridges coordinator directly to be eligible for this service at 301-294-4953 or 301-984-5777.
  • FAMILY, INFANT AND CHILD CARE CENTER (FICCC) - specialized child care for infants and children with medical conditions, from six weeks to five years old. For more information, call 301-279-2165.
    KARASIK CHILD CARE CENTER - an enrichment program providing year-round full- and part-time care for children of preschool and elementary school age with and without special care needs. For more information, call 301-593-0444.
    MONTGOMERY PRIMARY ACHIEVEMENT CENTER (MPAC) - a nonpublic, nonprofit, special education program for children (ages 2 to 8) who have identified developmental delays. MPAC also provides specialized instruction to children in Montgomery County with autism through the Collaborative Autism Preschool Program (CAPP. For more information, call 301-593-3797.   • SUMMER SCHOOL - MPAC students who are eligible through the local education agency receive extended school year services in the summer. Services are based on each child's needs. For more information call 301-593-3797.

Baltimore Association for Retarded Citizens

  • Towson Child Care Center provides exceptional child care services for children 6 weeks to 12 years old, including those with special needs including before and after school kindergarten care, and summer camp for school age children. Phone: 410-296-7241.
  • Adult Day Services provides a medically supervised program for persons who have chronic medical conditions. The focus is on using leisure and community activities to maintain skills. Phone: 410-296-8356.

The Caroline Center - provides services to children and adults with mental retardation, developmental disabilities and other handicapping conditions, including community integrated programs, sheltered workshops, and residential programs for individuals with severe medical involvement, quadriplegia, self injurious and aggressive behaviors, and individual family support program for those individuals who live at home with their families or who live independently.

Center for Jewish Education - Children with special needs receive appropriate Jewish education through the special education Sunday school of Gesher LaTorah and other programs. The Center also offers counseling and referrals for special education and assistance with bar and bat mitzvah preparation for children with disabilities. CSAAC's Community School of Maryland serves children and adolescents with autism ages 10-21. The school provides educational and vocational training in a 24-hour, 12-month program. Disabilities Services Quality Improvement Center (DSQIC) - a national support network to assist local Head Start programs in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia in serving children with disabilities and their families. The Language-Learning Early-Advantage Program (LEAP) -the University of Maryland Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences offers an individualized communication enrichment preschool program. Maryland State Department of Education- offers several programs for families of children with disabilities

Sinai Hospital’s Special Needs Children’s Center provides multi-disciplinary team assessment and treatment for persons with developmental disabilities from infancy through age 21. Services include physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and behavioral counseling.
