LINC’s Board of Directors 2001-2003

Robin L. Zimelman, President of LINC, was formerly an attorney with Venable, Baetjer and Howard for fifteen years. Robin is also a CPA. She serves on the Parent Action Committee of The Maryland School for the Blind where her daughter, Raquel, attends. Raquel has benefited from LINC's services and she has attended LINCís Computer Camp for four years. Her brother, Michael, has served as a junior volunteer at LINCís camp and her sister, Juliet, has been a camper. Robinís husband, Larry Eisenstein, is also involved in disability issues as President of the Maryland Disability Law Center.

Paul C. Wolman, Vice-President of LINC, is a graduate of the University of Maryland Law School and former advertising executive, Paul combined his many talents to form P.W. Feats, Inc. in 1985. The firm employs 33 full time professionals and produces events and innovative solutions throughout the country. The International Council of Shopping Centers, Event Solutions magazine, Special Events magazine, and the International Special Events Society (ISES) have recognized Paul for his work. A founding member of ISES, he currently serves on the advisory board of Event Solutions Magazine, Baltimore's Preakness Celebration, the FANS board of the Baltimore School for the Performing Arts, and Baltimore's Academy of Travel. In 2001 he was named Industry Leader of the Year by Tourism and Hospitality. Paul chairs LINCís Special Events Committee, and Co-Chaired and orchestrated LINCís tenth anniversary celebration at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall featuring Wynton Marsalis.

Patricia K. Mullaney, Secretary of LINC, is a Public Affairs/ Relations Manager in Verizon Communications (formerly Bell Atlantic-MD) External Affairs Department. Pat has been with Bell Atlantic for 30 years in various capacities, including Corporate Contributions Manager, Consumer Advisor, Customer Service, Training and Development, and has worked with many organizations that address the special needs of people with disabilities. She is presently a member of Disability Awareness Leaders, and she has previously served on the Board of Directors of Advocates for Communication Technology for the Deaf-Blind and the Business Advisory Council of The Alliance, Inc. Pat chairs LINCís Strategic Planning Committee.

Christine L. Oughton, Treasurer of LINC, is presently a member of the Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Companyís Trust Operations management team, working as a Trust Specialist and Analyst. Chris has been a LINC volunteer and supporter for eight years. She is a member of the Employee Volunteer Council at Mercantile and is actively involved in a number of volunteer activities, including the American Red Cross, Hands-on Baltimore, Serv-a-thon, Volunteer Central Make a Difference Day, Catholic Charities Dragon Boat Race, the March of Dimes, Juvenile Diabetes and Adopt-A-Family. Chris chairs LINCís Finance Committee.

Stuart D. Blumenthal, D.D.S. has a dental practice located in Lutherville that accommodates all patients. Dr. Blumenthal has a special interest in providing optimal dental care for children with special needs and their families. His interest originated in elementary school when he made dental rounds with his father at The Chimes. He also serves as the Pediatric Dentist for the Kennedy Krieger Institute. His interest in LINCís target population coupled with his interest in computer technology led to his involvement with LINC.

Calvin Bryan is a Competitive Employment Manager at MBNA America. The Competitive Employment Program places people with cognitive and developmental disabilities in mainstream areas throughout the bank. He supervises individuals working in the Hunt Valley office and has worked with LINC staff on employment support issues. Calvin has a degree in Business Administration.

James D. Hardesty has served on LINCís board for eight years. He is the President of Hardesty Capital Management. Prior to his current position he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company, where he worked for twenty-five years. Jim has served as a trustee of the Walters Art Gallery, Gilman School, and the Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland. His daughter, Ellen, who is deaf and has cerebral palsy, uses LINCís services. Jim Co-Chairs the Development Committee and has been instrumental in LINCís fundraising efforts.

Pamela Himmelrich has worked for the last five years at the Bryn Mawr Lower School. She has served on the Womens' Board of Sinai Hospital and the Bryn Mawr School Board. Pam has been a volunteer at Bryn Mawr and Gilman Schools, and for the Lancers Club. For the last eight years she has participated in LINC fundraising events. Pam is married to Sam Himmelrich, Jr., a real estate developer, and has four children: Anna, a sophomore at Harvard; Jacob, a freshman at University of Pennsylvania; Carrie and Ella, Bryn Mawr 10th and 6th graders respectively.

Winnie K. Levinson, is a dedicated LINC volunteer whose family has been a member of LINC since its inception. Winnie has been instrumental in numerous special events hosted by LINC over the years. Her son, Lee, a graduate of the Maryland School for the Blind has used LINCís services from the start. At LINC, Lee has borrowed software, learned how to use the internet and e-mail, developed new computer skills and made decisions about what kind of computer to buy. He recently completed the job-training program at LINC and is working at the ARC of Baltimore.

Leslie Seid Margolis, Esq. has been a staff attorney with the Maryland Disability Law Center since 1985, where her focus is on special education and representation of children with disabilities. She also has personal experience with disability as a parent of a 7-year-old daughter, Pazya, who has a rare brain disorder resulting in several developmental disabilities. Pazya attends an "inclusive" public school program where she is thriving, and has attended LINCís computer camp. Leslie is also a board member of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, CHADD of Greater Baltimore, the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, and the Governorís Advisory Council on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Ellis Marsalis, III is a Senior Systems Engineer with Ease Technologies. Before joining Ease Technologies, he was the principal of Polaris Systems, Inc., a Baltimore- based network management, consulting and software development firm for the past eleven years. Originally a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, he relocated to Baltimore after a stint in the army. He is one of six crawfish-eating Louisiana country boys who is making his way in the big city. One of these six brothers, Mboya Kinyatta Marsalis, was born with autism in 1971, and has served as a beacon for many things in the Marsalis family. Ellis served as Co-Chair of LINCís ten-year celebration held at the Meyerhoff, featuring Wynton Marsalis and Ellis Marsalis, Jr.

Kurt Milam is retired from the Maryland State Department of Education after working 27 years for the Division of Rehabilitation Services as a Rehabilitation Specialist. He coordinated services for individuals with severe visual impairments. He also has extensive knowledge of the functional limitations of other impairments. Kurt is a former President of Advocates for Communication Technology for the Deaf/Blind. Kurt has been active with LINC since 1990. Kurt, who is blind, is familiar with an array of technological devices and alternative techniques to cope with severe visual loss. He uses JAWS software, which is a text-based screen reader and he also assists with LINC training programs in this area. Kurt is also a performing musician.

William F. Rienhoff, IV is Director in the Baltimore office of Credit Suisse First Boston. He was formerly a Managing Director and Manager of the Baltimore Private Client Services Sales Office for Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown Inc., where he was employed for eighteen years. Bill joined Alex. Brown in 1982 and became a Managing Director in 1990. His outside activities include board memberships on the Gilman School, Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust, and the Guilford Association. He is a former board member of the Baltimore Museum of Art. Bill Co-Chairs the Development Committee.

Bob Roswell, LINCís Immediate Past President, has served on the board for 9 years. He has also served as Vice President. Bob has been involved with LINC since it was founded and has been key to LINCís expansion and success. Bob provides his technology and business expertise to LINC. He and his family have hosted volunteer thank-you picnics and his son served as a junior volunteer at LINCís computer camp. Bob is the Co-Owner of System Source, a computer company serving the Baltimore and Washington areas. In addition to sales, System Source has an Education Center, Service Department, and technical support center. Bob is also Co-Owner of PC's In A Pinch, a computer rental company. Bob is a board member of Jewish Vocational Services.

Stephen C. Roth is currently the Executive Director of Real Estate & Facilities Services for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. Steve has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA in Finance from Loyola. He serves on the Boards for the Neighborhood Design Center, the Gwynns Falls Trail Association and the Hunt Valley Business Forum. Steveís related professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and the International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE).

Vivian V. Slacum recently retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric Company where she was a facilities designer for 32 years. Vivian and her family have been instrumental in numerous special events hosted by LINC. Vivianís husband, Luther, volunteers at LINCís Computer Camp as a visiting artist. Her son, Andre, a young adult who is blind, uses LINC's services and has a computer at home. At LINC Andre has worked on written and expressive language using a screen reading program.

Marian S. Vessels is the Director of the ADA Information Center at TransCen in Rockville. Prior to that she was Special Assistant for Disability Issues in the Governor's Office where she was responsible for the implementation of the ADA. She is also the former Director of the Governor's Office for Individuals with Disabilities and has served for the past seven years as the Executive Director of the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.
