Bridges from the Heart -- A Huge Success!!
Special Thanks to P.W. Feats & Our Corporate Sponsors!

On January 21, LINC celebrated its 10th anniversary with the Bridges from the Heart concert, where a host of local and national musicians played to a sell out crowd at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The first half of the show featured emcee Joyce Scott, singing and scatting with the Dunbar Jazz Ensemble, directed by Charles Funn, and other local notables, including Jimmy Wells, Harry Watters, and Novasha Daya. The second half of the concert featured Grammy-award winning trumpeter and composer, Wynton Marsalis, with his father, renowned jazz pianist and educator, Ellis Marsalis, Jr., and guest artists Neal Caine on bass and Martin Butler on the drums.

Before the concert, over 650 VIP LINC supporters enjoyed a lavish buffet provided by Innovative Gourmet in the lobby. The concert raised close to $150,000 to expand LINC's outreach services for Baltimore City people with disabilities, thanks to the generous support of corporate sponsors Verizon, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, P.W. Feats, H&S Properties Development Corp., Chesapeake System Solutions, DeutscheBanc Alex. Brown, Credit Suisse First Boston, System Source, Mark Building Company, Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust, Ziger/Snead, Constellation Energy Group, EaseTechnologies, Kramon and Graham, and Meridian Financial Resources. Media sponsors included Baltimore Magazine, Baltimore Business Journal, Style Magazine-The Jewish Times, WJZ-TV, Maryland Public Television, Baltimore Afro-American, WEAA, WJHU, WBJC, and WPFW.

Special thanks go first to event co-chair and LINC board members, Ellis Marsalis III and Paul Wolman, CEO of P.W. Feats. Ellis, for getting his brother and father to perform at the gala, and Paul, for directing, producing, and orchestrating the event pro bono with the utmost precision and professional flair. He, his team of special event experts at P. W. Feats, and the talented technicians at CPR Multimedia Productions, donated thousands of dollars in labor, materials and supplies that resulted in the inspiring stage production that enveloped the spectacular musical performances of the evening. Special thanks also go to Jim Fanzone and Jay Harrison of Design Concept for their donation of creative design and production of the invitations, posters, slides, and advertisements used to promote the event. LINC was able to deliver its message to many people, and continues to reap the benefits of this high profile outreach effort. We have captured the attention of many new supporters--individuals, foundations, and businesses; have added new members and consumers, and identified potential collaborating organizations to implement outreach projects.

Thanks to everyone who made LINC's 10th Anniversary Celebration a huge success!!
